This is a project I did for a fashion illustration class in college. The primary focus of this project was to create a line with sustainability in mind. At the time, the deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest was heavily on my mind so that is what inspired this collection. The idea was that this collection would be ultimately created using recycled rayon fibers. Rayon is a man-made cellulosic fiber which might sound environmentally friendly but the fact is most new rayon that is produced comes from endangered trees in the rainforest. The production of new rayon fibers is slowly destroying the rainforest which is why I had the idea to use recycled fibers. The shapes and colors of this collection are also inspired by plants and nature you would typically see in this environment. All illustrations were done using water color pencil and have most recently been touched up with a mix of Procreate and Adobe Illustrator.
